If you were closer I could help you out . I modified my stock 2002 986S muffler to the Fister style mod . Works perfect with no drone . It is aggressive when on the go pedal . Good luck with your search .

Hmm,..I thought about getting a muffler shop to weld in my piping, Iam not sure if its the diameter of the tubing or what type of material the tubing is made of, it's a little hard to pay 700.00 plus for 2 tubes..unless their is more to that job that I just dont know about..? Thank's Frank

Years ago there was a guy in Texas that advertised on this forum that sold the pipes . I bought a pair from him and did the work myself . I think he sold the pipes for 100 buck . They were 3/4 " diameter and stainless steel .

The pipes were formed on a jig he had and were top mount at the tips . You can also side mount at the tips . Keep the pipes tight to the muffler body as it is a snug fit.

Frank, I have a pile of mufflers in back of the garage and I'm pretty sure there's a good one from a 2000 S. I'll see what's available and post a couple pics tomorrow morning. It's been a while since I shipped a muffler. eBay prices are running about $300 shipped which isn't bad. I think I can do $200 shipped to you in Tucson. Let me see exactly what I have...

The part number is correct and it looks like it's in good shape. I'll keep the flat bar that bolts on between the mounts. I assume that you have all the pipes and mounting hardware.

I am sure you guys have already thought of this but you should ship it straight to Fister which would save on some of the total shipping cost.

Thank's,.. for that info Rfuerst911sc, I'am sure he's probably done with that, I've never seen that advertised,.I wonder if the size of tubing and the type of metal used make the sound, So if you change the diameter and say use regular aluminum if that would change the sound of it, just curious,..I like a little higher pitched sound personally ,..
