Porsche Boxster 986 Aero Kit II Rear Spoiler

I installed the Aero Kit II on my Boxster but decided to go without the spoiler. New in-box, located in SoCal.

While the price for the spoiler may be a bargain in certain circles, it is ridiculous. Far, far less expensive spoilers can be had and look equally, if not better, than the spoiler offered. It is a nice humble-brag, I suppose, to those who need validation.

That $750 could be better spent elsewhere in/on the car. $00.02

You got to admit those are great pics of a cardboard box.

LOL! I did notice the many pics of the box. It was way too early for me to comment.

I purchased a nice spoiler off one of our members... about 3-4 years ago. $100. I just can't wrap my head around a ordinary spoiler for $850.

Nice to see you around, JB. Decided on a new color wrap?

I'd at least take it out of the box. It is alot but OEM stuff is crazy money. Staying with the orange for awhile.

Porsche Boxster 986 Aero Kit II Rear Spoiler

I appreciate the replies! If someone’s interested the price is not firm, the only comp I could find was the XtremeMotorcars replica on eBay so I’m open to offers. I’m also open to opening up that box for some more pics.

Inside the box! One unpainted spoiler and some pieces that come with it.

Kinda hard to tell but is this aerokit 1 or 2 spoiler... your pictures make it look like aero 1 (pictured below)

rather than the aero 2

It's out of the box! Hopefully in another four months we'll see it out of the wrapper and can tell if it's a 1 or 2

It does look more like a 1 than a 2. That plastic piece also looks like the filler part from the 1 that goes where the factory popup spoiler used to go (the 2 retains the popup spoiler). But doesn't the 1 also come with the extended fiberglass trunk lid?

Its a completely different trunk lid for aerokit 1. No 3rd brake light as it's on the spoiler, side it's longer than oem trunk lid.

Hey guys, confirming it is the Aero Kit II spoiler with some more pics, I won’t take it out of the wrapper so here are some closeups of the part number for reference and a few shots of the rest of the kit on my car.

OK! Now out of the box I can see the brake light insert and it is indeed an Aerokit II. Nice Boxster too. Looks like mine. It took me years to find those AKII side skirts.

Slightly off-topic, it looks like you have the 718 style tail lights, which ones did you get, and are you happy with them?

Porsche Boxster 986 Aero Kit II Rear Spoiler

Thanks Javi! And redpepper yes the 718 style tail lights are awesome and I love them, I got mine on eBay (fishcake321) for $750 after tax last august. I park outside in CA and at one point following heavy rain some moisture got into one and it fogged up for a few days but that resolved on its own with no lasting effects.

Very nice! I've seen them on two cars now, and I love the look. Such a simple change that makes the car look 20 years newer. I'll be on the lookout to buy a pair, unfortunately cosmetics are low on the list of things I need to do at the moment.

I'm interested in the spoiler/duck tail. Please reach out via text to 9565789119. Is it still available?
