Gauge surrounds/binacles for 996 (5 Gauge) Cluster
If you have completed or are contemplating upgrading your gauge cluster from 3 gauges to 5, you are probably trying to decide whether to buy a 996 gauge surround or modify your existing surround to accommodate the two additional instruments. I have both options available
First up is a black vinyl 986 cluster surround which has been modified with a dremel tool to accept two additional gauges. It includes the screws to attach it and the hazard switch, but not the microphone cover. This fits the 5-gauge cluster perfectly, but it will not accept trim rings on the two outer gauges. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606258751.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606258780.jpg The second option for your consideration is a black leather 996 cluster surround. This can be used with "S Style" trim rings. Please note the ultraviolet ray damage to the leather on the top of the cluster. You cannot see it while driving, but it is obvious when looking through the windshield. If you are concerned about cosmetics (and most Porsche owners are) you will probably want to have this repaired. This unit includes the hazard switch and the microphone cover. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606259158.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606259202.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606259246.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606259281.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1606259324.jpg Black vinyl Boxster/986 Surround - $50 or best offer plus shipping. Black leather (UV damaged) Carrera/996 Surround $75 or best offer plus shipping. Please send me a PM if you are interested in purchasing either item. |
