WTB Lapis Blue or Black Hard Top - San Diego, CA
Hi!
I’m new to the forum, just bought myself a 2001 986 Roadster in Lapis Blue. Love the convertible top, but would like to have a hard top in Lapis Blue or Black for next winter. I’m in San Diego, CA - Poway to be specific.
Please let me know if you have one available!
Thanks,
Gaither

Bump. Thinking buying just about any color hard top and having it wrapped in the same color as the soft top. What do you guys think?

Here's my opinion...
If you get it painted it's once and done. It'll match the car, and with proper care will last a long time. You're in San Diego... I'm SoCal, too... so that sun...
Now... if you get it wrapped it may be less costly, up front. However, you may not get a perfect match. Maybe you could go a deviated color. That said, and from what I've read... you must have that wrap pulled no later than ~three years or it begins to REALLY stick (Read: stays stuck, becomes harder to remove with each passing day), and could affect the paint, whatever color may be underneath. That's why I would never consider wrapping my car... that constant re-wrap.
If it were me I'd keep my eye out for a top. Lapis Blue may be a hard color to come by, so maybe snap up that next great deal... and have it painted.
Good luck.

That’s some good advice. Maybe even a scratched up top too so it doesn’t cost too much. I didn’t know about the wrap being difficult to remove. Thanks!

Bump! Any color would do at this point as I'll either wrap it or paint it.

Here is a rather odd offer...
I have a Lapis Blue hardtop in excellent shape. I've been looking for Basalt Black but I'm about ready to just paint this one. If you can locate a black on in similar shape as mine, we could swap.
I'm in California.
