Parting out my 2000 Boxster S

Haven't been on this board for a while. I bought this car off lease in 2002 with very low miles. Drove it fairly regularly (enthusiast style) on and off until about 2009? Then I started traveling as an international sales rep (Latin America territory then Far East Asia territory then my territory was from Canada throughout the US and Latin America). Parked the car for years. It sat outside in the Florida sun and faded the red paint. Looked like crap but still drove great. at about 80K miles the IMS? whatever... and the engine was toast. let it sit due to Cervical neck surgery and two lumbar surgeries...Time to determine the cars fate.

I have pulled a bunch of parts off the car and am selling them off. At about 68K of the 80K miles the car accumulated I did a bunch of suspension work. I replaced all the wheels bearings, Bought a Bilstein PSS9 coilover system and used new strut tops, Bought GT3 two piece lower control arms, new drag links (or whatever you call those pickle fork looking things) for the front and rear, new front tie rod ends and (I think Tarrett?) adjustable toe arms for the rear. All quality stuff... I put this all on with some repro "cup style" 18" wheels on it and it handled fantastic. I also replaced all three front radiators and the A/C condensers.

As Physical therapy, lol, I put the thing up on jack stands and started taking it apart. Now I have a ton of parts and my wife wants them GONE. I was dragging my feet thinking about building a tube frame and bolting all this stuff on it. That didn't get ANY votes in my household.

I'll post some pictures below in this thread of the parts I've taken off but the list so far is:
PSS9 spring, shocks with the low mileage strut tops installed (makes fitting them painless)
Good six speed transmission
complete rear suspension with all the stuff referenced above and crossmembers (shocks sold separately) Gt3 two piece adjustable control arms, etc.
Complete front suspension with rack and crossmember (shocks sold separately) GT3 two piece lower control arms etc.
all four Brembo calipers (have used rotors with VERY low miles on them... they have a coating of rust on them that comes free with the rotors but they are good and warp free)
Really nice Boxster S three spoke steering wheel with airbag
All three front radiators and condensers with the fans attached and all associated ductwork
3 stalk (lights, wipers, cruise control) switch system.
Four good 2000 Boxster S wheels
Four good repro "cup" wheels All wheels mounted with trash tires (dry rotted garbage)
Rear spoiler motorized system (the gears wear out) but it works fine.
The front hood is good (really faded red paint)
The trunk lid is good (really faded paint)
the front bumper cover is good (faded paint)
doors are good (faded paint)

I'm OK with the EBAY "sold prices" I'm finding for this stuff. I wanted to post this here for the community that follows this board. I don't want to have to be an EBAY guy. I'm fine with local pick up or could ship the smaller stuff. I'm in Broward County Florida. I could also make the parts available for your carrier of choice to pick up?

Is anyone interested? Should I post some pictures? Does anyone want other stuff before I have the shell towed away? I could take the top transmissions off if anyone wants them...

I have pictures of almost everything sitting here on my computer. I'll post any you want pictures of on this thread if interested.

Anker,

It looks like the fair price for a six speed is $1,500. Seems low but I'm OK with that. It would come with the tranny mounts you see in the picture:

Thomas986,

Raining here now but I'll get out tomorrow and pull the shift knob to take a picture for you. As I remember it looked good. Sorry for the delay.

Vann914 and TRP,

Here are the PSS9s and control arms. Not sure I want to sell just the 2 piece arms but probably the whole "corner" with the trailing link (same age as the shocks and lower control arm) along with the spindle (newish bearings) (all done at the same time). Would also make it a quick and easy install too.

The PSS9 set fair price should be $1,100 (come with upper mounts installed as pictured) this also would make for a quick install...

I'll do some checking on the price of the front suspension corners pricing if you're interested in purchasing the complete corner.

Just a quick note...

I also needed to adjust in a tad more negative camber with the two piece lower control arms in the rear to get the handling "spot on" with the PSS9s (at lowered ride height). Makes a BIG difference.

Highly recommend the aluminum crossbar that links the two rear suspension halves together at the bottom rear (bolts on below the aluminum "diamond" under the transmission. I got this from a local PCA guy that makes them. I was skeptical but it does make a difference (depending on how aggressive you drive).

Thanks, I'll pass.

The asking prices are in that range, but the selling prices I can find are in the $500 to $1K range. Also, I don't need the suspension components.

Anker,

I was not selling the transmission with the suspension components, just the transmission mounts.

I'll do some more research. If $1,000 for the tranny is the "sold price" then I'm OK with that. Less than that and I'll have a good excuse to use it for some cool project. I know this one is good. Not all used trannys are the same.

I'll pass. That's a bigger project than I want to take on.

There is a good amount of corrosion on that aluminium. Where do you live? Where was the car stored?

Fwiw: the last 6-spd trans I sold I got $900 plus freight.

The last one I bought, I paid $1250, including freight.

Both were "known to be good" and under 70k miles.

If its still available I'd like to swing by and take a look sometime before this coming Monday. Please let me know by PM when it would be convenient for you and what your address is. Could you also let me know how long the transmission is? I will be taking it back on the rear seat of my Mercedes if I pick it up.

Thanks/Anker

Gt3 lca

I'm interested in a pair of the GT3 Lower control arms. What are you willing to let those go for?
Additionally, do you have the rear mud guards and rubber lips from the front of the rear wheel fender? I'm interested in them if they are in good condition.

Do you have any of the undercarriage splash guards available?
