Looking for Headlight Assy
The passenger side headlight in my 1998 Boxster has no lateral adjustment and is stuck pointing all the way in. I had it out and looked at it but it seems to be pretty much unserviceable, unless anyone knows otherwise. Vertical adjustment works OK.
Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone might be parting out a '98 and have that right side assembly? Thanks! |
I have a pair from my 99 Boxster. $220 plus the ride

Check to be sure that none of the ball and socket mounts have popped out.
This ball and socket mount has popped apart: http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...onarymount.jpg It's not unusual for the adjustment worm screws to get stripped at the ends when someone tries to forcibly adjust it too far. You should be able to pry forward on the lower adjustment slider while turning the 5mm hex drive get the worm screw to grab good threads. A stripped worm screw adjuster: http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...photos/002.jpg Which hex drive are you using for vertical adjustment? The instructions in the manual are wrong. Lateral adjustment actually requires turning both, though the lower needs to be turned about 1.5x times as much as the top. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/a...ructions-0.jpg |
Thanks for those photos! Very helpful. I'm pretty sure what's happening is the lower adjustment gears are stripped but I'll take a closer look tonight when I get back home using these shots for reference.
Camibox - thanks for the offer and I'll get back to you shortly after I have another look at these and see if they're fixable. |
i hope it's just a screw. Always feels good when its a simple fix
