Wanted: Pair of Early OEM Exhaust Manifolds

1 Attachment(s)
Looking for a cheap pair of the very early non-cat factory exhaust manifolds, per the pictures below.

Thanks - DM

(edit: tried unsuccessfully to shrink the second picture, so apologies for the large size)

Yup, have been already looking there for a while, thanks.

"Cheap" as in "looking-for-an-unwanted-pair-that-no-one-needs-any-longer"!

Do these have suitable flow cross sections for your 3.2?

Maybe reference the part number against euro 3.2 manifold numbers. I seem to recall them having mid pipe cats.

Exactly the reason why I am looking to go for little money here. I am "hoping" that these are suitable, and were made to be one-size-fits-all. But I won't know for certain until I give them the once-over.

If someone reading these can measure the port openings, that would be great!

Thanks - DM

I believe that those from early 3.4 996 engine may be what you want, should be bolt-on with larger tube diameter than early 2.5. They are on my long list but unsure of loss with low end torque plus scared to snap exhaust studs...

I have a set off a 99 2.5 tip if they work.

Thanks for the potential lead!

But my first impressions are that they would not be a direct drop-in fit to the rest of the system (all pictures from a Google search, so their accuracy is of course an unknown).

Here's a Boxster one:

And then we have the 996 one:

While the pipes do visually appear to be of a larger diameter, I notice the "upturn" at the 996 outlet flange, which appears, at least in these pictures, to be different than the "straight" exit of the 986.

Perfect! Well worth a trial!

Let me know what you need for them (PM is fine, as you may wish).

Thanks - DM
