WTB: LSD for VW 012 5spd transmission

I'm looking for an LSD (clutch type/helical, don't care) for my VW 012 5spd transmission.

I know Quaife makes one (qdf6q5) and so does Guard. Probably some others out there as well.

This transmission is out of a 2001 VW Passat 1.8T, going into my mid-engine 1.8T powered MK1 Rabbit. I know that the Porsche Boxster has the same transmission with maybe longer gears (albeit different cover plate bearing in pre-1999 versions).

If someone has a good 012 (or the Porsche version) with an LSD already installed they want to sell, I'll buy the whole unit. I wouldn't mind having a spare, or the longer gearing of the Porsche version.

I'm in southern NH.

Kaaz makes a LSD for that transmission and the Boxster. It's what I have.

Exotech in Plastow installed it for me.

Thanks for the info.

Do you happen to know what type of power the 012 can handle?

After some reconsideration, I'm thinking about welding my diff for a season to see how the transmission holds up to traction and increased power.

I don't want to waste a bunch of money on an LSD if I'm just going to have to upgrade my transmission to an 01X anyway, you know?
