04 Boxster S Engine Failed IMS 76k miles - entire engine or parts
SOLD!!!
I am selling the engine or if no one is interested in the engine as a whole, parts from my 04 Boxster with 76k miles. The previous owner believed that the IMS failed and I bought it as a non-runner. I pulled the engine and am looking to clear it out. The oil looked fine, no particles and certainly no chunks but you should assume that it will need a rebuild. I did no investigation pf the engine and don't plan on a tear down/ If it doesn't sell as an entire engine then I will begin parting it out. $2500 for the whole thing (less the wiring harness) plus shipping from zip code 60565. E-mail me through the forum or sned me a PM or text 63O-23four-7one87 Thanks! https://s33.postimg.org/l9y42rxtb/20...16.54.04-1.jpg |
Definitely a failed IMS http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/70014-whats-boxster-s-engine-ims-failure-worth.html
I will be parting this out once I have a chance to break it down further. |
No offense, but $2,500 for a blown motor?? Did you misquote your asking price, i sure hope so?

I hope folks will chime in if I price something too low. :) |
LOL, i like the sense of humor.
for a point of reference, i regularly see Base boxsters with a blown motor sell for $2,500 as a complete car. another example, there was just a documented running S motor for sale on CL by me with 76k miles for $3k which is a good price for an S motor but sets the bar. In the post you linked the advice provided was the motor wasn't worth much, maybe $1k max (which i think is still high). obviously your motor and your call, but if you are truly looking to sell it in that condition i dont believe you'll have any takers on this board. offering unsolicited advice, no disrespect intended. |
The engine sold :)
