That's bc I don't want aftermarket. I want oem. So ya I've looked

My bad. Just trying to help. I didn't realize you were set on buying a top that's at least 13 years old for $500.
Best of luck. |

The original poster wasn't interested in the top. If anyone else wants it, I am open to offers. |
Come on. If you want to sell yours make a separate thread

I get why you would want OEM. Usually the aftermarket is of less quality. I think you should give the aftermarket a chance for two reasons. 1) of the 03-04 tops I've come across, most had a wear problem just like Kevin's has. Something about the way they fold or something rubbing on the inside causes them to develop a hole right there on the sides. Most likely anything you find will also have that problem starting. 2) Every canvas replacement I've seen has been pretty good quality. Granted I've only seen replacement tops for the 97-02 with a plastic or small glass window and not a replacement glass top for the 03-04.

A new one is less than $500 on eBay. Just saying...

Before you buy an old top in any condition, look at Convertible Top Replacements | Auto Tops Direct Car Tops. You may find exactly what you're after, for a better price than you think.
My 02S has a top I got from them, and it's great. I'd buy it again. Dave |

I think Woody is right- it's the way the top folds that makes the marks on that section. I took this pick when I had the top folding down to see if it folded smooth like the plastic window top does, and it doesn't. Instead, due to the glass window, the fabric on the side has to fold sharply with creases, and thus, there are stress points at those creases. Mine still is holding up fine, but I do see areas where there will eventually wear thru.
