WTB: 2.7 or 3.2
Well my sons engine has died!
We haven't determined the exact cause but it's ugly... We need a replacement engine or car complete or a right off. He has a 2003 Boxster Base with a 2.7 tiptronic. (Not sure if a 3.2 would go in or how much work it would be) We are in Ont. Canada so something close would be nice. Hope someone can help us out. Bart. |
I unfortunately don't have an engine to offer, however this article should provide some insight into engine compatibility.

Bart,
Saw this on PP... no affiliation. That sucks about your son's car. Best of luck. Boxter S Engine for sale - Pelican Parts Technical BBS |
Thanks BoxsterSteve! I have emailed the guy and will do some investigation. It seems that the engine should be compatible with my vehicle.

Good luck boys on getting it on the road! Want to see both of you on our spring Muskoka Run next year.

a 3.2 will fit, but you will need to reflash the ECU and change the exhaust. I have a 2.7 from a tip complete with 70k for sale $2800 here in Denver if you don't want to go that route.
Leak down numbers are great 4% on cyl 1 2% or less on all others. Shipping will be around $300 to a residence, less to a shop. |
I will let my son know.
Thanks |

As long as the 3.2L is 2003-2004 you don't have to re-flash the ECU |
Sorry to hear about the engine. Hope she's up and running by the spring!

What kind of shipping quotes are you getting? I use freightquote.com. They have good pricing and offer insurance. Most freight companies will only reimburse you the scrap value of the used automotive part you're shipping. So if they lose or damage it, you're only getting a few bucks for your $3000 motor. If you call them and talk to a representative, they might give you an even better rate. Ask for Shannon Miller 800.323.5441 x6764
