FS: Complete Audio System: GPS Head Unit, Amplifier, Dash Install Kit

I am doing a 986S hotrod with minimal audio, so I am selling the Pioneer AVIC-X940BT GPS head-unit, Pioneer GM-6500F 760W amp, and the dash install kit for a 986/996. This basically gives you a full audio system for your 986 or 996 - you install the head unit, install the amp, then tie the amp into the factory speaker wires, avoiding the hassle of integrating with the factory MOST fiber optic network (and avoiding the expensive adapter). I will include the Pioneer head unit wire harness, GPS dongle, USB input cord with the old-style iPod adapter, and the instructions and installation manual for both. If desired I will also include the backup camera currently installed on my car, as I won't be using it and it works well with the head unit.

More info on the head unit features are here: Pioneer AVIC-X940BT Navigation receiver at Crutchfield.com

More info on the amp features are here: Pioneer GM-6500F 4-channel car amplifier — 60 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com

The head unit was originally $699, the amp was originally $179, and the dash install kit sells for $149 on Suncoast. I will sell the entire package for $400 OBO plus shipping.

Looking at my 2003 there is a bit of work involved. Are there any issues with moving the climate controls below the junk collector box? What is the time required to install the update? Are there updates to the GPS?

Hey Jim, this was all installed in my car when I purchased it so I'll do my best with your questions. The climate control should be a direct install to the lower console as it is a factory location, the cars equipped with factory navigation came that way. What do you mean by time required to install the update? If you mean the navigation unit I would expect that a few hours would be sufficient. I suspect you can get map updates as the interface looks like a Garmin but I'm not certain, you could contact Pioneer to verify. Hope that helps, this is a great way to upgrade a later car with the MOST system, which is a huge pain to interface with.

My climate control is under the cup holder, then the radio then the cd player and then the junk collection hole. See Photo.
I will take a look and see if the climate control can be relocated to where my hole is now located. I will get back to you later this evening or some time tomorrow.

That's exactly where mine is located, it shouldn't be an issue.

I had to buy a trim piece for the climate control to fit the lower position:

Lots of good detailed info is available for the install:

Jim, my climate control is in that lower most hole in the lower console. I plan to relocate it upwards to the radio hole and install a GT3 console elimination kit so I would be willing to include the trim bezel from my car if you want.

Matt,
After looking at what it would take, I shall pass. Thanks for the information and good luck on selling your equipment.
