FS: a Pair of Headlight Weather Seals

These were removed from my original 2001 Boxster S headlights. The rubber is in great shape and the bonded plastic reinforcements at the ends are in perfect shape. I carefully removed them to make sure I didn't tear any of the mounting holes.

Part number on the right one is: 996.631.172.00
Part number on the left one is: 996.631.171.00

Porsche doesn't sell these separately (they are sold as part of the headlight). I searched the internet and no one seems to have used ones so I have no idea what to ask for them. I thought I'd throw them on here and take offers.

Shipping would be very cheap, they weigh practically nothing.

Any money I get from selling these will go towards what I had to spend to repair my car from the accident I had last month.

I'll tell you what they worth:

I've checked: Cheapest I found for the two-part injection mold for the left here in SH (small shop price) is $3000 and the right is $500. Min order is 500pcs each which is dead cheap anyway but regardless, add x1,000 rubbers and the order is minimum $6,500. So....

Anyone who are going to get these "unique" rubber for <$6,499 is a winner :D

Bird dog I am right here in Marietta and need these for some nine8six headlights I bought over two years ago and haven't installed because I need the seals. Can you PM me a price and maybe we can meet today/this weekend ?

The big question is why these seals are in such good shape? They are 15 years old and should have turned all goopy by now.

BirdDog 08-21-2016 11:44 AM

The headlight seals have been sold.

Yep snagged these today thanks Bill. I have no idea why these are in such great shape but they are . Now what should I treat/coat them with so they stay that way ?
