Cayman Style Hard Top
A while back I made this roof from out of mostly fiber glass and some carbon fiber. It's made to fit the 987 Cayman rear hatch. The carbon fiber Getty Designs hatch you see in the photos I have sold. I still have the rear quarter glass windows, and the front door glass windows which i will include. As mentioned I made this myself because I don't like the look of the factory hard top or those funky Z tops. My car was just a little beater toy to me so I didn't car much about pristine quality and quite frankly wanted something that not only looked good but that was as light as possible, which this is pretty light. So that being said fitment like the door windows isn't perfect or the rear hatch. Not like factory type fitment. So this is more ideal for someone who has a track car.

Hi
How much (picked up)? Thx Matt San Jose |
Dan,
Keep up the fabrication work. My 986 GTS-R (Techart 997TT GTS influenced) wide-body is under body coachwork fabrication and wanted to ask you if you had 19" or 20" wheels on your car? I read numerous posts in forums that mentioned 20" wheels would be a horrible ride performance and feel on a 986, yet a owner in Canada said that his ride performance and feel were un-expectingly good. I can make them fit but a but worried about how it will perform and ride, and don't want to go smaller than 35 series in the front and 30 series in the rear. Currently, I'm planning on going with 19x8.5 by 19x13.5 wheels. I may or may not go a half inch wide in the front, it depends on the available tire sizes. All the exterior work should be done around this coming May. By the way, what are you cruising in now? Be sure to keep in touch.
