I got this for the 986 but never installed it. It mounts in the car and can be programmed to open up to 3 different gates/garage doors, 12vdc. A nice project that will have a factory look when done. $30 plus shipping.

Homelink can be installed in any car with very elementary DIY skills. Lots of youtube install vids including Boxster/996. I never put it in the 986 and my new car has one already.
