I have a 4th stalk (just add to your existing two or three stalk switch with the 2 included bolts) along with the wiring harness to the dash for $100.

That's what I did, just add the stalk to your existing 3 stalk. Very easy

Do you have the replacement side pieces to accommodate the switch ?

I assume that you mean the rubber "gasket" that is in the steering column trim? All you need to do is cut a hole in the one that is there. There are marks molded into the back side of the rubber gasket that shows where to cut. It takes about a minute with a hobby knife or sharp box cutter. You could probably cut it with a sharp scissors as well.

I do have that gasket that was from a car that had the OBC from the factory, and it almost looks like they just tore the center of the gasket out. That one is going with a complete '01+ S manual dot matrix OBC cluster, four stalk switch and harness that I will be listing soon.

Are the switches interchangable between different years ? I have a '98. Reason I'm asking is an eBay ad for one specified it was only for 987s 2005 and newer. I want to make sure compatibility will prevail

The switches are all compatible from on '97 to '04 986s. The one difference is that the '97 to '00s have glossy covers on the switches, and '01 to '04 have a matte finish. The individual OBC switch that I have has the early, glossy cover.

The switch assemblies on 987s are totally different than the 986, so you do not want one of those.
