Headlights with LED

I'm thinking of buying those for my 2001 Black Boxster S:
They sell for $969 with matching side markers on here:

Anyone own those headlights? Before shelling $1,000, I want to make sure they are well made and will look good on a black 986. I already replaced the taillights, now it's time to upgrade the headlights.

I'm also interested if anyone is planning on selling clear headlights for a good price.

Did you end up getting these? If so, how do they look?

I talked to a guy who got them and said that they looked nice, but he sent them back because he wanted all oem.

Do not buy!

These are pure garbage. Period.
I have a set on my workbench in pieces right now and will soon do an in depth review.
Everything in them is shoddy...and I do mean everything.

The projector reflector is made of plastic!
They are chock-full of "cooling holes" so that the bulbs don't melt all of the super cheap plastic. This also allows dirt, debris and moisture to flow freely into the headlight, contaminating the already sub-par optics.

I honestly wouldn't buy these if they were only $100.

beyond my capacity to understand how this works. Those modern xenon things are silly hot. Love the "heat management" holes they make here and there the assembly. Got to love them

Thanks so much particlewave, for your review and saving the rest of us the hassle and money. I wasn't sure if they were good or cheap, so I almost bought some but now I will stay clear of them.

Update. I was able to find some slightly used Litronic Bi-Xenon Headlight Assemblies for $999 on ebay. They look great and shine bright.

Note: There is a tool in the tool kit (5mm) that goes where you unplug the round rubber plug, half turn pops out the light. Then push the new light assembly in the same track and push level back to lock. Super easy to replace. Wish I looked it up before I took off the entire bumper

Well if you checked your horns and cleaned out your ductwork and radiators it wasn't a total loss!
