How does it attach? Snaps?

The cover has clips that fasten it to the rear convertible top cover, and there are templates that you cut out to help with positioning the other fasteners (on the dash).

It's not like the old British roadster tonneau covers that used the Tenax fasteners. Not as obvious or obtrusive.

have you ever driven a box with this on? i imagine that part over the passenger seat would make a lot of noise

No, I haven't had the opportunity to drive a Boxster with this type of tonneau cover installed. The tonneau cover is constructed of some pretty hefty fabric, and with the location of the fasteners that hold the cover in place, I wouldn't imagine you'd get a lot of wind buffeting, but that's merely conjecture on my behalf.
