WTB: 986/996 Aluminum Hood
 

I'm looking for a hood in good/great/excellent condition, preferably arctic silver. Other colors are welcome as well if the price is right.

Anything in NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD is great for local pickup - I'd consider MA, CT, VT, VA as well. If you're willing to ship, I'd consider anywhere else.

Just curious. What's a good price? You can buy carbon-fibre hood here: 97, 98, 99, 00, 01 - Up Porsche Boxster (Boxter) Carbon Fiber CF Hood for $420 which is about half of what it would cost you to have a free stock hood painted. Just throwing out ideas for you.

Thanks Matt. I've been looking at carbon fiber hoods, but I'm not sure I like the look on a silver car - a bit too "ricer" for me I guess. Then again, I've never seen one on a boxster in person, so who am I to judge?

Has anyone here ever purchased that CF hood from deftracing.com? Any comments on fit, finish, quality?

If you go to their web site, they have a lot of photos. Everyone I've met who has installed a CF hood really likes them.
