97 hardtop
 

Hello,

I'm new to these forums. My friends 97 Boxster was broken into yesterday. The thief slashed his soft top and obviously he is not happy. I recommended a hard top so he asked if I could help him find something. Do any of you recommend a place for this type of part? I looked on craigslist and ebay and everything seemed to be $2k and up. He doesn't want to spend quite that much so I'm in the hunt for him. I don't own a Porsche myself. Just 2 Evos hence the reason I'm looking for a little feedback. I appreciate any help that is given.

Factory hard tops, especially painted in the color of one's own car, are always going to be twice what the owner wants to pay... and possibly across the country with a current owner who hasn't a clue as to how to safely palletized it and ship it.

If your buddy is patient and is willing to keep an eye on eBay, they will pop up from time to time, but will be costly to repaint and ship.

Buying a glass window replacement soft top is going to be a cool upgrade and far less expensive all the way around... and plentiful.
