CDR-220 Radio & Accessories

I have several audio system items I removed from my 2000 Boxster. First on the block is a Porsche/Becker CDR-220 radio that I removed from my 2000 Boxster. It works fine, but has two cosmetic issues:

1. The volume knob is sticky. The large knobs are easy and fairly inexpensive to replace. (You just pull off the old knobs and put on new ones you can purchase from the dealer or Becker.)
2. Some of the small buttons have lost their surface coating and feel rough to the touch. These can also be replaced, but you will need to send the unit to Becker for service. I believe the cost of refurbishing the buttons is around $100, but you should confirm that with Becker. I have the radio code card, the manual and the cover for the removable faceplate.

Here are links to pictures of the radio:

I'm asking $125 or best offer for the radio.

I also have the Becker aux in (for accessories like an iPod) and the phone accessory cables. Here is a picture:

The accessory cables are $15.

Finally, I have a 4-channel Haes amplifier - $40.

Shipping on all items is extra.

Please PM me if you are interested in any of these items.

The radio is sold. The ipod/telephone connector and the amp remain available.

It was nice meeting Rick and Lanna (his 82 911). Too bad the wind (and debris falling from my trees) cut short our conversation.

Kevin it was great to meet you today, the radio is in and Willy (the Boxster) is all happy and so is the wife. This is very important.
Thanks again, and I hope the wind is kind to you. It was such a wild ride home I almost pulled over and bought a bag of sand to put in the trunk.

I agree that keeping our spouses happy is important - especially when the bill for the next modification, repair or driver's education is due.

I'm glad you got home OK. By the way, about 3 hours after you left, this happened:

That is where you were parked. It probably would have removed your spoiler. I know you wanted to do that anyway, but I think you would prefer a more controlled approach.

how does the phoen cable worK?

Becker sells the iPod cable and the phone cable together. I just wanted to use the iPod cable.

So I never used the phone cable and I don't know how it works. It's just a female RCA jack that hooks into the back of the head unit. Based on my limited research, it appears that you will need to buy a kit that allows your phone to interface with the cable.
