Are they OEM or aftermarket? What material are they made out of?

RandallNeighbour 07-19-2007 12:51 PM

While I already have a set, if I were a potential buyer I would like to see them on the car and see all the necessary straps that come with speedster humps.

One of my aftermarket humps doesn't fit flat as it should and I wish I'd seen this before I bought them.

Humps are humps. Love them or hate them.

I have the first factory version. I have helped install the second factory version. I have seen the aftermarket versions.

About 6 years ago a sort of local Boxster owner from Santa Cruz contacted me to make a mould of the humps, so they could be reproduced by the local fiberglass/surf board shop. I live in San Jose but have a rental in Santa Cruz, Surf City USA. But I do not go to Santa Cruz often.

When I had a reason to go to Santa Cruz I contacted the guy, but he had already bought his own humps to make the mould.

Long story short. The moulds went on ebay with a picture of my car. Then the aftermarket humps showed up in Florida.

Sorry i was away for the weekend.

It is definitly not fiberglass, i think it`s
polyurethane (hard plastic) i bought it
like this, so it does not come w/any
hardware or straps....sorry.
