engine Paint

rebuilding a 986 engine and after I had it jet cleaned (as I was told that you cannot "hot tank" these blocks) the block still looked very dirty. Turns out that the aluminum? has stained. I want the engine to look as new as possible as i plan on putting some money into it to build it right. My question is has anybody used automotive engine paint on these engines and how did it turn out. I plan on just doing an aluminum paint to make the block look new but really wanted to hear from someone that has done it. Pics would be great if available.

Really? It's not like you can even see the engine easily

Jasper engines come with rustoleum grey... Not show car spec, but its good enough for a company who makes and ships rebuilt engines.

I am just rustoleum spraying my block. But the bits on top (supercharger, adaptor plates, accessories) are all getting a coat of clear on top.

Never had an issue with clear auto paint on a block.
