Looking for 986 wraps

Hello,

I'm looking for pictures of 986 wraps or paintworks for inspiration.
Not just normal 1 colour wraps/paints.

My girlfriend can wrap cars, so I just need to choose what I want for mine, then she'll do it :)

I'm interested in this also. Does she have a pattern for the 986? If so I'd like to create some designs.

KMikkelsen 08-07-2018 12:53 AM

Nope, she doesn't have any pattern :)

What does a wrap job cost (roughly) on a Boxster and what are the advantages of it?
I don't know much about the subject, but I like the idea.
Any photos of members who have done this would be appreciated!
thanks

I have not seen it on a boxster but a few of those tv tuner shows have wrapped various cars. If done correctly looks as good or better than a new paint job, can preserve and protect the original paint also. Seems like the current trend to quickly change a paint job.

Thanks Cunningr, I may have to seriously look in to this then.
I like the idea of being able to change up the colors, as well.

Hello again,
The price depends on what material you want to use and how many different.

1 kind of material is like 3.000DKK for the whole car.
If you want a company to do it, then the price is aproximately 7-10.000DKK.

After advice from my girlfriend, I'm going from a wrap from the company Avery Dennison.

They have a new line called SWF (Supreme Wrapping Film).
And I have chosen the colour Diamond Blue.

Unfortunately I have 2 damages which I have to take care of first.
So the earliest time to get it wrapped is in the spring.
But then I can get my wheels renovated and some other small projects :)

I like the color choice. Be ready to see the final product in the spring.

I just got the price quote - 300 dollars.
And then there is enough spare for new sidevents and spoiler. When I get around to buy that :)

I just had mine wrapped, it was $1,600 including the design work. I watched them wrap part of it and wow looks really difficult. Here’s the thread

Looks nice.

Good price, specially for all the work :)

That's beautiful!
Congrats!

Phew.. finally done with the wrap. We did it in a couple of stages.
But I have had some troubles with my generator, so I haven't been able to go out and take some good pictures.

I ended up with another blue color and gun metal grey for vents and rims.

Will throw some pictures up later today - they are not that good tho :)

maytag - nice one.
I was wondering, what tool did you use to get the spoiler back on?
I have the same ducktail, but I can't seem to find any tool to easy put it back on :)

No tools required. It's double- sided tape.

But if you need to get the black metal thingy off, you then need to go in from the sides. Can’t find a proper tool for that.
That is why I haven’t mounted mine.

Better late than ever.
Couldn't uploade pictures from my phone :)

Why is the pictures upside down?

If you go to the picture at http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/IMG_17461575049107.jpg

Then it's normal :)

Looks good. Any pics in the sun or close up of the wrap. Make it look brand new and love the taillights.

So..... I'm getting there.

Waddy'all think about the bumper?
That's a stock 03 S bumper that I've modified. (In addition to the obvious, the center hole is MUCH larger than factory) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d489ea7b0b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...613c613e58.jpg

What color vinyl is that? From which manufacturer?

Must have used that new miracle vinyl anti-gravity wrap material. Not only looks great, decreases tire and suspension wear to zero. Kidding aside, looks great.

It’s from Avery Dennison.
Colour is SWF Matte Metallic Blue.
