Classic Roadster Style Hubcaps for 986?
I'm trying to make my 1997 986 look even more classic roadster and I was wondering if anyone has seen or knows where to get OR if its even possible to put old style hubcaps on a Boxster 986. Rather than spokes I'd like something more flat/saucer-like.
Just putting it out there :) |
Why Tim, Why?
Stick to the period in which a car was produced, IMHO. the car was made in an era of non-hubcap wheels, stick to that design thought. It's your car but...

Appreciate the feedback. I suppose in the same way some guys like their cars to look sportier and change the side skirts for example... i just love the roadster aesthetic to the vehicle and want to enhance that.
Definitely not looking for a value or performance increase. Just scratching a personal itch. |
If you do go with hubcaps, go all the way and add some curb feelers, can't go wrong there;)

You might have to use wheel adapters and use wheels made for a different make as you won't have a lot of choices with the 5x130 bolt pattern. I'm guessing that you'll only find 5x130 to 5x4.75 or 5x4.50 adapters.

I agree, the early boxters would look great with retro ,ie RSK type wheels. Anybody know if it would be possible the widen our space saver spares ?
