Did the 2002 Boxster in Guards Red use a clear coat 2 stage paint or us it single stage? I made a mistake and left my supposedly 100% waterproof cover on in the rain. 2 days later when I took the cover off the paint on the hood and trunk has milky areas now. So I was trying to find out if I can work the paint to repair it, or it needs to be repainted.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...dd76824856.jpg

Leave it to dry a couple of days. Then , depending on how braves you are, either polish a small area or wash a rest area well and wet sand with 2000-2500 grit paper and polish after.

It will be base & clearcoat.

Porsche used water based paints on these cars. To add to what the others said, I would recommend that you give it plenty of time to clear up on it's own. I bought a car that had been sitting with a bra covering the front, that held moisture on it for months. I could peel the paint with my fingernail. After leaving it open to the air for a couple weeks, it was almost completely back to normal.

As do all German manufacturers due to environmental regulations.

On the subject of paint, I bought a touch up stick from Porsche and the colour (Orient Red 2001) was no where near what colour my car is now. Its like comparing a light red car to a dark maroon red car. Did everyone's car paint fade this much or did the Porsche dealership screw the pooch again.... the paint codes are the same I checked.

I had no problems with touch up paint matching (black, 2 in guards red, petrol blue, arctic silver) any of the Porsches I've had over the years. I was fortunate and was always able to keep them in the garage so that may have helped with fading.
